Uniforms of the United States Army

During the Civil War every infantry regiment had a drummer who beat "calls". (Cavalry calls were sounded on bugles.) His coat is trimmed in blue, the color of the infantry. (Cavalry buglers' jackets were trimmed similarly in red.)
